• Mar 10 2009 Cross unlikely to return to Melrose

Marcia Cross is unlikely to reprise her role in the forthcoming update of US TV show Melrose Place.

"I'm really busy," she told E! "I say never say never, but it's not the first thing on my mind."

The Desperate Housewives star played Dr Kimberly Shaw in more than 100 episodes in the 1990s series, which also starred Heather Locklear and Kristin Davis.

"I haven't really thought much about it," Marcia said, when asked about Melrose returning on US network The CW.

"I really have almost no opinion except I wish them luck."

Former Melrose resident Courtney Thorne-Smith also isn't too sure about reprising her character Allison Parker.

"I think it's really for the younger generation," she told the website. "I don't think there's much place for us old folks."

• Mar 10 2009 CROSS 'HEART-BROKEN' BY HUSBAND'S CANCER BATTLE

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES star MARCIA CROSS has been left "heart-broken" by her husband's cancer battle, according to her mother.
Cross' stockbroker husband, Tom Mahoney, is currently receiving treatment for the illness after being diagnosed earlier this year (Jan09).
No other details about the 51-year-old's condition have been released, but Cross' mother, Janet, insists the actress and her partner are determined to beat the deadly disease.
She tells Britain's Closer magazine, "It's heart-breaking to see Tom so ill - he's got a big battle ahead of him. It just breaks my heart that they have only just found each other fairly recently and he might not be around to watch his kids grow up.
"They are the most romantic pair too. I just hope Tom gets better, so they can have a normal life again. His chemotherapy has been so gruelling and it's been tough but they're in love and doing the best they can."
The couple, who wed in 2006, are parents to two-year-old twin daughters, Eden and Savannah.
Cross' previous partner, longterm boyfriend Richard Jordan, died of a brain tumour in 1993.
